I am currently an instructional math coach at Greece Athena Middle and High Schools in Rochester, New York. I am also an adjunct professor at Monroe Community College (MCC). I graduated from Niagara University with a B.A. and M.S. in Mathematics Education and earned Advanced Certificates from Nazareth College and the University of Rochester. I continue to learn and conduct research at the University of Rochester on the most effective ways to deliver math instruction to our lowest achieving students. I also continue my growth as a teacher through numerous professional development opportunities and have created and implemented workshops for fellow colleagues.
I wanted to create a blog for two main reasons:
- To inform the Athena community (and others) of the great math instruction and learning experiences taking place in our building.
- To provide practical strategies to improve math instruction.
