I am currently an instructional math coach at Greece Athena Middle and High Schools in Rochester, New York.  I am also an adjunct professor at Monroe Community College (MCC).  I graduated from Niagara University with a B.A. and M.S. in Mathematics Education and earned Advanced Certificates from Nazareth College and the University of Rochester.  I continue to learn and conduct research at the University of Rochester on the most effective ways to deliver math instruction to our lowest achieving students.  I also continue my growth as a teacher through numerous professional development opportunities and have created and implemented workshops for fellow colleagues.

I wanted to create a blog for two main reasons:

  1. To inform the Athena community (and others) of the great math instruction and learning experiences taking place in our building.
  2. To provide practical strategies to improve math instruction.

Please contact me for any reason at andy.maillet@greece.k12.ny.us

Thanks for all you do. Athena’s math department is AWESOME! Thanks for capturing all the great teaching and learning to share with others.

  2. Andy,

Thanks for this. I tried email you to see if there were solutions available but the email was bounced back to me. Let me know if you have anything in the way of solutions you would be willing to share.
